In this week's readings- in a group discussion we were trying to translate the parable of the sower. So there are four types- the path, the rocky ground, the thorns, the rich soil. I think we can say that we understand the rich soils and can humbly say that we are not there yet. However, in discussing the other three we are trying to associate with the others and are stumped and would like some help in interpreting the parable.
ReplyDeleteJesus himself explains the parable of the sower. Please see Mt 13:18-23. I have spent some time with this recently and would have to disagree with your assessment regarding the rich soil, especially considering that you are making the effort to study scripture in a group. Has reading scripture made a difference in your life? Has this born fruit in your life? I know it has in mine! If it has in your life, you are the seed in the rich soil! Humility is an important part or the Christian life. But so is recognizing the good in your life that has resulted from our faith, and exalting Him for it!
