  1. I can't say that I'm enjoying the readings as there is so much violence! I find it more offensive than all the sex. This book should be x-rated. I'm up to date with the readings so don't we already have the 10 commandments in place? What about "Thou shall not kill? Why is God forever commanding Moses to send out armies to kill off so many people including women and children, but keep the young girls for yourselves. What a mean, nasty God they had back then. Sick, sick, sick.

  2. Was today's reading (Deuteronomy 1-3) a summary of what we just finished reading in Numbers? Or just similar?

  3. I hear what you mean when you say that the Bible is filled with sex and violence. After all, it is a journel of life on earth for the folks who lived at those times. God has given everyone from Adam and Eve down free will. They means that we are not robots to do only what God wants us to do but we have the ability to make choices about what we do or do not do. That is called freedom but it also comes with accountability. When God told the nation of Israel to wipe out other nations it was because the poeple in those nations had totally rejected God and had no intentions of turning to Him. The Israelites on the other hand were God's people who did in fact worship Him even though they sinned against God daily. God held them accountable as well and when they would not repent, He disciplined them to the point of death if needed to get their attention as well. Not too many people in this world want to live a life as God intended for us to do so. And when we live outside of God's rules (10 Commandmants) we can like others, expect consequences in our lives, family and nation.
