  1. Hopefully you have turned to the SJE Blog to get some answers to your questions as you have continued to read through your Bible this year. There are many stories in the Scriptures that a lot of us have not read or read for a long time. We sometimes wonder why there appears to be some very bloody or unkind things that are done in the name of God or at God's request. Life would be a lot easier for all of us if we just understood things from God's point of view, but not being God, we cannot. When it comes to not understanding a passage of Scripture it is best to pray and ask God straight out for wisdom to see what He wants us to see in the passage. If you are still struggling, please feel free to call me on my cell at 219-789-6000 and I will do my best to give you some thoughts on the passage.

  2. IF YOU FALL BEHIND IN YOUR READING...Is everyone staying up to date? Last week I was too sick to do anything much less wade through the Old Testament. I've caught up again and I thought I'd share one of my tips. When I am several days behind, I read all of the Old Testament readings in sequence, then go back and read all the New Testament readings. I find that it makes catching up less confusing.
