  1. As my husband and I are reading together each night it reminds me of when we were first getting married and I was reading about (NFP) Natural Family Planning and as I was reading I threw the book across the room and said no way! Then I picked it up and tried to understand the bigger picture of what was going on not just letting my emotions get the the better of me.
Now after 15 years of marriage ...NFP has become a blessing in our lives not the curse I thought it would be at first. So my point being after the first few weeks of reading and wanting to throw the Bible (I didn't) across the room for many of the same reasons that you guys have posted, killing , sex, blood sacrifices, etc.... This time I am just figuring that God has a bigger plan than I am able to understand and will hope in time it will all make sense. He is after all God - I know He always has a plan even if I don't "get it!"

  3. One of the things that happen when you first read through the Bible is that you cover maybe 10,000 years of history in one year. That is a lot to absorb let alone understand. God has worked with different generations since the beginning of time. His message is always to reveal Himself so that He could have a relationship with them. Some folks have cooperated with that idea and some have said no way with the resultant consequences. God does not make any mistakes, only we His children do and He tries to reach us even then with His forgiveness if we are interested. As you can see in your daily readings, a lot of people for a long period of time have not been interested in God or His ways.
