Is there any significance to all these materials and measurements? We've never exactly understood why so much detail is provided regarding the Ark of the Covenant. If Mary is the New Testament fulfillment of the Ark, does something point to her in this passage?

ReplyDeleteThe issue with Mary and the Ark is one of typeology (a template). In the Old Testament it is the Ark that carries the last hope of mankind (8 people) through the waters of the Flood. In the New Testament, it is the Blessed Virgin Mary who is the ark that carries the Son of Man who is the last hope of mankind and delivers Him into the world to be our Savior and Lord. Without the ark all mankind would have perished in the waters of the Flood. Without Mary all of mankind would have perished in sins without Jesus' death on the Cross of Calvary. Both events brought life. The ark brought physical life and Mary brought eternal life.
